End of Term

As I approach the end of term I wonder, "Where to from here?"  I have been doing work on the side building content management systems for clients, establishing connections and trying to run a business out of my home office.  This seems to be working for the time being.  I think I am going keep on keeping on this is aspect and trying to free up some time to do other things in my life.

Rugby Canada work experience

I have been speaking with Rugby Canada about doing some work for them and have finally reached an agreement.  They have just launched a new site and have been struggling transferring their historical data to their new site.  One of my tasks will be to find a way to import all the old stuff into the new site.  As an addition to that project, I will also be building the history of the organization from as far back as they have records.  Currently, there are records that go back from 193

To Print or not to Print

Image quality is an issue that is often overlooked.  With the emergence of Web 2.0 and social media, digital imaging has taken over.  There are an abundance of digital photographs made easily available on line.  But, is this an acceptable practice for archiving and maintaining image quality.  Whatever happened to scrap booking?

Currrent Projects

I am undertaking a photo manipulation for the Squamish Nation.  They are in the planning stages of beautifying totem hall.  I am working with a Horticultralist and General Contractor to produce a series of images for the bosses to approve before they embark on this significant project.  Progress to date involved merging three sequenced photos to create one large landscape and then adding foliage from other photos taken.  See the progress below:

To HD or not to HD?

I have had number questions in the last couple months asking if I will be producing videos in High Definition.  My answer is no.  Although consumer HD cameras are now readily available and affordable for the general public distribution methods and output formats are not.  In order to fully output HD on a digital video disk, one requires a blue laser to burn the format and a blue laser reader to display it on a true high definition television or computer monitor.

USA Sevens

I left yesterday afternoon to come down and referee at the USA Sevens despite being in that car accident.  I have told all parties and they are giving me the equivalent of light duties for international refereeing.  ie: Paperwork.

Not So Screeching Halt...

Things are finally getting back moving again.  After the car crash on Thursday, I am starting to feel up to doing some work here and there.  Seeing how ICBC decided to write off my last vehicle I need to replace it sometime soon.  My girlfriend won't let me use her car forever, so we went to check out Toyota today.  I found it quite interesting that they don't negotiate with terrorist either.  The price advertized online is the price you pay.  I think I may push the boundary to see what I can get out of them.

VanOC Ski Jumping

Last week I went up to Whistler Olympic Park to video ski jumping.  We left Vancouver first thing in the morning to meet the Fox Australia crew to document the athletes training and learn a thing or two about ski jumping.  We had full access to athletes and facilities.  I never thought getting off a chairlift without skies would be so difficult.

Semester Wrap Up

The semester is finally wrapping up.  Before all our projects are done, we are already preparing for our next semester's internships.  I have now finished the final edit of term 2's EPK and returned it to the band for whatever purpose they desire.  You can see it on my video's page along with my mid-term and final After Effects Projects.  I have completed the build of my DVD authoring final project, all I need to do now is complete formatting all the video's and slideshow for DVD, which will be due at the end of ter

New Site

Welcome to my new Site.  It is finally up and running.  I have been laboring day and night to get everything in order.  It is finally presentable.  I still have lots to learn about drupal, particularly customizing themes and there will be more updates coming in the future including more works and blog updates.
